Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Monday, November 2 and Tuesday, November 3
Attention parents of
students in grades five through eight:
The Northern Valley High Schools present “Sticks and Stones.”
Children are spending a lot of time on FaceBook and MySpace, or
using cell phones for texting and communicating. Sometimes the
messages they send or receive can hurt. Northern Valley's Student
Assistance Counselors will present the film "Sticks and Stones" on
two evenings to discuss just what can happen. At 7:00 on Monday
November 16th in the NV Demarest auditorium and at 7:00 on Thursday
November 19th in the Old Tappan auditorium Student Assistance
Counselors will moderate a discussion with parents and high school
age students on a very relevant issue facing teens today regarding
the dangers of internet bullying, harassment, peer pressure and hate
speech. Everyone reading this knows that even their own children may
have received such communication and know the hurt it can cause.
This is the time for any parent of a student in grades five through
twelve to come out and hear what is going on with our children
today. Bring a friend and help our teens prevent this from
happening.
